Pastor’s Pen for Sunday, December 8, 2019

“For He Who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name.  
And His mercy is on those who fear Him, from generation to generation.  
He has shown strength with His arm; He has scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He has put down the mighty from their thrones, and exalted the lowly.”  Luke 1:49-52

He Has Done Great Things

This is what Christmas is all about,
There is good reason to lift up a shout,

Cease with selfishness and greed,
Let Jesus your heart lead,

For God demonstrates the power of giving,
It’s in giving, we find the joy in living,
For He has done great things!

For in Him are all mercy and strength,
Nothing can stop Him, no height, no length,

From embracing those, who in Him place their trust,
He exalts the lowly, lifting them out of the dust,

And not just for those of yesterday,
He remains faithful all the way,
For He is doing great things!

So shake off any hesitation,
God abides generation to generation,

Offering salvation through faith in His Son,
Making us His children by what’s been done,

Now sing out a this Christmas song,
To God the Father, you can belong,
For He does great things!
