Pastor’s Pen for Sunday, July 21, 2019

“I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, 
Who is and Who was and Who is to come, The Almighty!”
Revelation 1:8

Who He Is

When asked about what God is like,
Responses certainly can vary,
From ‘the man upstairs, far away,
To an angry judge, oh so scary…’

Others say He’s the “unmoved mover”,
Or the giver of all the rules,
Perhaps He got things going,
 But has left us only with tools…

There’s even those who would say,
‘There is no God out there…
And if there is, what’s that got to do,
With all of us right here?’

So into this controversy 
We have God’s very word,
“I AM”, He clearly states,
But that truth must be heard…

For He has always been,
And still is today,
As He will be tomorrow,
The Truth, the Life, the Way!

Creator and Sustainer,
The Almighty One,
Lover, Healer, Savior, God
Father, Spirit and Son!

So rest assured in His revealed grace, 
That God is always there,
Totally accessible to all who call
On His name in prayer!
