"For we walk by faith, not by sight. We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord."
  II Corinthians 5:7-8

Recently my sister, Sandra Perkins, received her summons from the Lord and had her Homegoing.  Her influence and wisdom, her smile and faith, along with courageous endurance greatly impacted my life.  In loving tribute and lasting memory I share this poem with you here...

Home for Christmas
A tribute to my sister Sandra
By Rick Meyers

No longer awaiting in anticipation,
No longer held back by limits here below,
No longer surrounded by my situation,
Now released and rejoicing, to my home I did go!

For Jesus came that first Christmas night,
Reversing what was my destination,
He took upon Himself my sin and changed my hopeless situation!

Now since He called my name, and spoke so tenderly,
I answered His beckoning and merely stepped away you see,
So I am not gone or missing I'm home for Christmas now,
Absent here, but present there, with Jesus I am free!

Yes I am home for Christmas
Yes, you can join me too,
Put your trust in Jesus, He made a way for you,
Then when the morning comes,
and night is no more,
We'll all be home for Christmas, with Him forevermore!

Blessings, Pastor Rick Meyers

Great tribute to your sister. Oh how we long for our homegoing. I'm ready whenever He summons me home, until then, I'm busy making those memories. Hugs
